Biography

Bo Luo is a postdoctoral fellow in the Hildebrand Department of Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering at UT Austin. He obtained Ph.D. degree in Petroleum Engineering at University of Houston. He has been working with Professor Ryosuke Okuno since 2023 on geomechanics modeling of carbon capture and sequestration. He specializes in geomechanics modeling with strong programming skills in Python and MATLAB. He has developed source codes for hydraulic fracturing model that includes fluid flow, rock deformation, fracture propagation and particle transport.
His internship experiences include working at Aramco Research Center-Houston in summer of 2021 and CNPC USA Corporation in the summer of 2023. In addition, He have contributed as a reviewer for more than 10 academic journals and several conferences.
